Job Description

Data Quality Analyst 

Do you have a passion for improving business operations to provide a better experience for customers and colleagues, do you value to the power of accurate data, that is connected and flows efficiently through operational systems and are looking for an opportunity to deliver tangible business value in a FTSE50 data company? 

We are currently recruiting for a Data Quality Analyst to develop and execute internal data monitoring and data improvements and support our Data Quality and Data Governance tooling. This role will work collaboratively across our business, to deliver operational improvements through improved accuracy of data, and ultimately delighting our customers with a data driven service experience. For the successful candidate, this provides a data focused role to deliver real value from within one of the world’s leading data companies. 

This will be achieved working with UK Data Architects within the UK data governance framework to agree data definitions, manage, integrate, and align enterprise data across the business. This will enable us to build a consistent and complete view of our customer’s interactions, products and services and support strategic objectives to improve service, delight our customers and enable technology transformation. 

The Role 

The role will operate in the UK Data Office, Data Architecture Team, reporting into the Head of UK Data Architecture and an in-location line manager. The role is essential to execute against the plan of internal date improvements, maintain enterprise data models, data lineage maps, supporting processes and tooling and produce and maintain data quality reports. This is essential to provide oversight of the use of our data, connect processes and systems and assure the controls and monitoring are applied to meet business data quality, legislative requirements, and drive stakeholder accountability. Day to day tasks will include:

  • Work with Data Architects to implement data quality reports, including definitions, processes, and business rules.
  • Ensure that standards and definitions of data (in all its forms) are adhered to; govern the data glossary.
  • Execute data analysis, profiling, and data cleansing activity.
  • Support the ongoing operational monitoring of data quality and execute on required improvements.
  • Deliver on actions coming out of Data Domain Forums and facilitate the communication of data standards to all stakeholders in the organisation.
  • Support the Definition of data structures, enterprise data models and data lineage maps to support the needs of the business.
  • Support Data Quality and Data Governance tooling, including managing tickets logged with the software providers, implementing system changes and security reviews and upgrades.
  • Support Data Architects in delivering programme level change.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures and the overall data management strategy.


Qualifications

Could this role be for you? 

We’re looking for someone who has a genuine interest in data and who has a passion to drive and improve data quality within a large organisation. You’ll have knowledge of data modelling practices, data quality analysis and control management and monitoring, and the ability to explain and champion data management best practice. You will have a technical background, experience in enterprise level reporting tools (e.g. Power BI and the Power Platform / OBIEE / Tableau), Excel and/or SQL experience (VBA / Pivot Tables / Advance Formulas) and any enterprise class data management and quality tools is preferred.

You’ll succeed in this role by demonstrating excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to work to your own initiative and challenge peers and stakeholders. It’s important that you can work as part of a team and effectively bring your ideas to the table!
