Intro and job overview:
Precisely’s Summer Internship Program is a paid, part-time opportunity for undergraduate students actively enrolled in university. This is a 10-week program that begins June 9th and concludes August 15th. This opportunity is 100% remote, and you must be in the United States during the summer internship. The Data Operations Intern will work closely with the Data Operations & Enterprise Architecture team, which sits within Corporate IT. Data Operations is responsible for the continuous improvement of Precisely’s data in Salesforce, NetSuite, and other enterprise systems.
The Data Operations intern will use data science principles to organize account data into groups and create a system to ensure accurate data classification. The intern will spend the first couple of weeks being onboarded onto Precisely’s systems and gaining familiarity with the data and business context of the project. Once the intern has gained a solid foundation, they will spend focused attention on the project, working closely with the Data Operations team to hone methodologies, monitor progress and ensure successful outcomes for the intern and Precisely.
Responsibilities and duties:
- Improve the quality of master data to reflect customer and product strategy, segmentation and to enable better insights to be generated from the data by aligning named accounts to the defined categories
- Start developing a Rules Engine for using the enrichment data to ensure correct enrichment granularity, using tools such as Silectis Magpie, Workato, Microsoft Power Automate, Precisely Data Integrity Suite, and SSIS
- Analyze source and target systems data using tools such as Snowflake, MS SQL, Azure SQL, Trillium DQ, Tableau, Python and Microsoft Excel to define the categories of organizational legal structures and identify the enrichment characteristics that define them
Requirements and qualifications:
- Precisely's summer internship program is designed for rising junior and senior undergraduate students.
- We prefer candidates in the Eastern Time Zone, however, all time zones are welcome to apply
- Sharpen problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to develop confidence in being uncomfortable with uncertainty and adapt to the changing demands of working on data projects
- Ability to develop new skills or hone existing skills in SQL, Python, Silectis Magpie, Tableau, and Salesforce
- Understand the importance of storytelling and presentation in a business setting
- Possess strong analytic skills including Excel Pivot Tables, Excel Power Pivot, Excel Get & Transform (Wrangle), Tableau, and scripting languages
- Have familiarity with ANSI SQL language and Python
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
- Be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite
