Position Summary:

MacroHealth is looking for a smart, passionate Data Engineer with experience working in startups or larger companies in a high-tempo, dynamic environments. You will be responsible for driving the overall vision and development of our data platform.

This position requires you to be a self-starter with the ability to take ownership, work with tight timelines, and handle various tasks simultaneously while continuing to develop a positive work culture. You will join a world-renowned leadership team with a track record of leading the development of multiple successful companies and products.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Design, build, and launch efficient, reliable and scalable data pipelines to move and transform data
  • Maintain and retrofit MacroHealth’s data infrastructure in a cloud scalable environment
  • Articulate solutions and influence leadership
  • Collaborate closely across teams with engineers, data analysts/scientists, product managers and business owners


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

  • Knowledge of the US healthcare system, ideally with prior experience in a health tech setting
  • Ability to thrive in a people-first culture of teamwork and respect
  • Self-starting and innovative orientation
  • Ability to take ownership, work with tight timelines, and manage various tasks simultaneously
  • Personally motivated to exceed performance and functional standards of design and implementation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain unit/integration tests for code
  • Comfort working within an Agile methodology
  • Demonstrated ability to learn emerging technologies and work across technologies 


Required Education and Experience:

  • Fit in a people-first culture of inclusion, teamwork and respect
  • 5+ years of experience with Python
  • US healthcare claims experience
  • Has bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience building data products
  • Experience working with RDMBS, NoSQL database and object store
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills with a solid understanding of testing practices
  • Excellent documentation skills


Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience using Databricks
  • Experience using data tools and frameworks like Spark, Hadoop, Kafka


Location: Fully remote within the US 

Salary: $140,000 - $155,000 plus bonus, equity, 401k match, unlimited PTO and medical/dental/vision insurance
