Job Description:
Parsons is looking for a Data Engineer to join our team at the Pentagon’s National Military Command Center (NMCC). In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, managing, and optimizing the data systems that support critical operations within the NMCC. Your work will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of data, enabling seamless communication and operational efficiency for the Joint Staff and the Daily Updates Team.
This role is critical to maintaining the data infrastructure that supports the operational readiness and efficiency of the National Military Command Center. Candidates must have a strong technical background in data engineering and be able to operate effectively within a high-security environment.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines to ensure the efficient flow and transformation of data across various systems.
- Develop and manage ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to automate data collection, transformation, and loading into databases and data warehouses.
- Optimize and maintain databases to ensure high performance and efficient data storage, retrieval, and management.
- Work closely with data scientists and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure that data systems support analytical and operational needs.
- Conduct regular data validation and quality assurance checks to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data.
- Collaborate with the Power Platform SME to integrate data systems with broader operational tools and applications.
- Ensure seamless integration of data from multiple sources into centralized data systems, supporting the NMCC’s mission-critical operations.
- Collaborate with software engineers and other technical teams to ensure data integrity and alignment across all platforms, including Advana and Palantir.
- Support the design and implementation of data models, schemas, and structures that facilitate efficient data analysis and reporting.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required prior to hire.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in data engineering, data management, and ETL process development, preferably within a military or government environment.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with data platforms such as Advana or Palantir.
- Experience in database design, optimization, and maintenance.
- Experience with data integration, data modeling, and pipeline automation.
- Analytical skills with a strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues.
- Written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document and present complex data processes.

Salary Range:
$117,000.00 - $210,600.00
