We aim to connect with millions of members across 17 European markets, inviting them to engage in an exciting treasure hunt.
We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our team to cover for maternity leave for 1 year.
As a Data Engineer in the Data Infrastructure and Tracking, you will contribute to Lounge by Zalando's mission of establishing a robust and trustworthy demand data infrastructure, central to our data driven decision making process.
Your primary focus will be designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance data infrastructure that is not only efficient but also reliable at scale. Through continuous innovation and challenging the status quo, you'll enable our organisation to access valuable data-driven insights.

WHAT WE'D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

You will support the implementation of a reliable and performant data infrastructure that integrates with internal and 3rd party tools.

Collaborate with diverse teams of talented data analysts, applied scientists, business analysts, product managers, and software engineers to implement and maintain high-performance data-processing and data integration systems on top of lake house architecture.

Work with senior data engineers, and peers in central data platform teams to support the development of the system architecture and ensure seamless integration into Zalando's central data platform.

Establish and enforce data quality standards throughout the ETL process.
WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF....

Experience of running data processing pipelines using distributed data processing frameworks like Apache Spark. Databricks experience is a must.

Experience in working with MPP data warehouse, e.g. Redshift, Big Query,Snowflake

You have solid programming skills in Python

Hands-on experience with the AWS,GCP ecosystem and integration with orchestration services (Airflow).

You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English with an ability to articulate complex technical topics and solutions concisely and simply.
