The Data Engineer I works as part of an agile team and is a hands-on member with source data through to Product deployment and operation.
The Data Engineer I is responsible for the analysis, operation and maintenance of the Data Management processes, creation of new data processes to meet business data requirements, ingestion of new sources of data and delivery against data quality standards.
The Data Engineer I will be across the end-to-end lifecycle of data management, proactively driving and governing our data’s accuracy, integrity, completeness, conformity, and consistency.
The Data Engineer I will perform continuous improvement as a measure of success and drive to deliver improvements across our data lifecycle management.
Key Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the end-to-end operational management of cloud data platform, adhering to required data management and governance practices.
- Develop a variety of database query and visualization tools to identify and understand platform issues or events.
- Perform data quality assessments and implement data cleansing and enrichment processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and develop validation and verification procedures to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
- Develop and maintain data documentation, including data dictionaries, data flow diagrams, and data lineage.
Skills and/or Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Technology related discipline with at least 2 years of working experience.
- Strong knowledge of data transformation processes, exposure to standard and complex datatypes.
- SQL skills is a minimum requirement, Python is preferred.
- Experience with using these languages to evaluate data quality, accuracy & completeness is preferred.
- Knowledge of DataOps methodology and data management approaches is preferred.
- Experience with cloud data processing, GCP is preferred.
- Experience in managing stakeholders, project plans and JIRA are strongly desired.
- Robust data knowledge preferably around business data sets with proven analytical and quantitative skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite skills.
