About the role:
We are seeking a Data Engineer to develop and optimize scalable data pipelines and cloud-based storage solutions, supporting financial data processing and analytics. This role will focus on ETL development, database optimization, and performance monitoring, ensuring efficient data management.
A day in the life of our Data Engineer:
Data Pipeline Development & Management
• Build and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines that move data from various sources (databases, APIs, cloud storage) into centralized data warehouses or lakes.
• Ensure pipelines are scalable, efficient, and fault-tolerant to handle large datasets.
Database & Data Warehouse Management
• Design and optimize relational databases (SQL) to store structured and unstructured data.
• Manage cloud-based storage solutions such as Snowflake
Performance Optimization & Monitoring
• Optimize query performance using indexing, caching, and partitioning strategies.
• Monitor data pipelines
Work closely with finance team, analysts, and business teams to understand data needs and provide solutions.
Who We’re Looking For
Required:
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or data science, with a focus on financial data.
• Strong expertise in SQL, with the ability to write simple queries efficiently.
• Proficiency in Snowflake, with intermediate to expert-level experience in data warehousing and cloud-based data management.
• Hands-on experience with ETL processes, including designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines.
• Familiarity with DBT or a similar data modeling tool for transformation workflows.
• Demonstrated experience in dashboard creation and data visualization, particularly using Tableau.
• Experience working with project management and collaboration tools such as Confluence, JIRA, and Slack.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
• Knowledge of DataBricks as a data warehouse solution
• Experience using Microsoft Power BI for data visualization in a financial or corporate setting.
• Understanding of financial data structures and reporting needs.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams supporting finance, accounting, or business intelligence functions.
The hourly rate for this role is $60-$69/hr. Actual compensation packages within this range are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate and role requirements, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.
