Do you want to be part of a collaborative fast-paced Data Strategy & Security team as a Data Compliance Analyst?
In this role, you will support the day-to-day operations of Guardian’s Data Strategy & Security Practice. The candidate will be instrumental in the enhancement and ongoing maintenance of Guardian’s record management and data governance programs. Internally, this position will interact with all departments and all management levels within the Guardian enterprise and will obtain insight into the operations of one of the country’s largest life insurers.
A successful candidate will have excellent analysis and organizational skills. The ability to influence and drive proactive partnership in a changing business environment is critical. You will develop cross-business connections, provide industry perspective and best practices guidance while considering long-term outcomes and the needs of partners/clients when providing advice. This role will report to the Assistant General Counsel, Data Strategy & Security.

Work collaboratively with a team of attorneys, compliance, and InfoSec professionals to establish and maintain a company-wide data governance program, which includes assisting with data classification and the implementation of record retention and purging efforts across the enterprise.

Conduct assessments and audits of applications, programs, systems, products, and services and help drive forward enhancements targeted at complying with applicable data security laws and regulations.

Ensure appropriate data retention policies are being applied so that data is properly disposed.

Identify strategic priorities, objectives, and milestones, including staying current with emerging legislation, regulations, and law around data classification, retention, and security.

Lead the implementation of tools to automate efficient and scalable data retention and cybersecurity processes.
You have

A Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, Business or a related field or equivalent experience.

3-5 years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant with demonstrated experience in data governance and/or records management is preferred.

Must be organized, results-driven and proactive.

Insurance or financial services experience is a plus.

A demonstrated history of growth, innovation, problem solving and client service.

A desire to lead, inspire, motivate, and drive performance.

Respect for diversity and ideas of others, willingness to collaborate in a fast-paced team environment and motivation skills required.

Strong project management skills.
Location /Travel
Hybrid role: 3 days in office, 2 days WFH, Hudson Yards, NYC

Salary Range:
$80,940.00 - $132,975.00
The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
