Your day at NTT DATA

The Data Center Sales Specialist is a subject matter expert and is a quota-bearing sales persona. This role involves finding new opportunities, presenting solutions to clients, and working closely with internal teams and clients to close deals.
The Data Center Sales Specialist identifies new opportunities from a selection of existing accounts, and presents Data Center solutions, value propositions, partner configurations, cost structures, and revenue models to the client that meet their needs. The Data Centre Sales Specialist works directly with clients at a variety of levels, as well as internal subject matter experts.
A substantial amount of time is spent on engaged selling or supporting the sales process in partnership with Client Managers. This role contributes to the pre-sales process by working with pre-sales architects to create the best solution design for the client, as well as building and developing excellent stakeholder relationships with new and existing clients, whilst developing new business channels and territories.

  • Expert in data center technology and solutions.
  • Supports sales by addressing technical challenges.
  • Keeps up-to-date with products, services, and market trends.
  • Works with technology vendors to understand their solutions.
  • Engages with clients to understand their business goals and needs.
  • Prepares and conducts client presentations and workshops.
  • Identifies new sales opportunities and works with sales teams to close deals.
  • Follows sales strategies and maintains account plans.
  • Partners with internal teams to manage proposals and scope of work.
  • Uses sales tools (SaleForce) and methodologies to drive the sales process.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven success in achieving sales goals.
  • Strong customer relationship skills up to senior leadership level.
  • Excellent sales presentation and team selling skills.
  • Knowledge of competitors and successful sales strategies.
  • Ability to define and execute sales strategies.
  • Client-focused with problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to urgent deadlines.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Maintains accurate sales forecasts and plans.
  • Strong business acumen.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in information technology/systems or sales or a related field.
  • Solution Selling certification(s) preferred.
  • Relevant technology and vendor certification(s) preferred.

Experience:

  • 3- 5yr sales experience in technology or services.
  • Proven track record in solution-based selling.
  • Experience selling complex data center solutions to (senior) clients.
  • Creative problem-solving to meet targets.
  • Networking with internal and external stakeholders.
