Data Analytics Engineer will focused on building data infrastructure, designing data structures, and building pipelines for scalability. The role involves creating visualizations and BI dashboards using Python, particularly with a tool called Hex.
What does a day in the life of a Data Analytics Engineer look like?
- ETL, DBT Models, Documentation:
- Migrate Data from our Sources of Truth into Google BigQuery
- Transform data structures to enable quick analytics and efficient aggregation (DBT, SQL)
- Document data definitions and structures
- Coordinate with Analytics Leadership to identify data tracking SOPs
- Data Visualization and Reporting:
- Create metrics using DBT semantic layer
- Build models and visualizes using Hex and Python
- Service ad-hoc reporting/analytics requests for the team
- Potential Later Projects:
- Build Growth Forecasting Models
- Create a data pipeline into a vector database for semantic search applications
What are the required qualifications of a Data Analytics Engineer?
- At least 5 years of relevant experience, adaptable to new data frameworks.
- Advanced ETL, SQL, data architecture, metric building, strong Python skills
- Advanced data visualization, experience with Plotly, and DBT (particularly DBT semantic layer) is highly preferred
- Willing to work on a night shift
- Can start ASAP
