The Data Analyst meets the information and data needs of decision-makers and producers in one or more lines of business for the Bank.
Responsibilities include:
- Demonstrating ownership of service requests and performs discovery processes with internal customers.
- Taking requests and gathering requirements for reports, dashboards, scorecards, and other forms of information delivery.
- Translating requirements into technical solutions
- Implementing and maintaining data solutions over time.
- Maintaining competence with reporting and analytics tools, data structures, and other relevant technical disciplines.
- Applying Bank standards and industry best practices to all work efforts.
- Ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and maintained.
- Performing additional duties as requested.
- Interacting harmoniously and effectively with others, focusing on the attainment of bank goals and objectives through teamwork.
- Conforming to acceptable punctuality/attendance standards as expressed in the Employee Handbook.
Senior Data Analyst
In addition to the responsibilities of a Data Analyst:
- Providing service to more lines of business.
- Delivering a deeper level of analysis.
- Servicing nearly all needs within their area(s) of expertise.
- Expert-level knowledge of at least one line of business is expected.
Principal Data Analyst
In addition to the responsibilities of a Senior Data Analyst:
- Possessing expert-level knowledge of analytic tools and techniques as well as several lines of business.
- Expert-level knowledge of at least two lines of business is expected.
- Leading and mentoring other Data Analysts, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Providing strategic direction and guidance on complex analytical projects to team members and business partners.
- Developing and implementing best practices for data analysis and reporting.
- Ensuring the continuous professional development of team members through training and mentorship.
Business Partner Relations:
- Coordinating tasks/activities with business partners and vendors as appropriate.
Compliance and Control:
- Assisting in ensuring that the Bank complies with local, state, and federal regulations.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; four-year college degree or equivalent work experience strongly preferred. At a Principal level, a graduate degree is strongly preferred.
- Reporting and dashboarding experience with a data and analytics tool, Cognos preferred.
- Familiarity in SQL and Python; at Senior level proficiency in SQL and Python; at Principal level expertise in SQL and Python.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong documentation skills, including proficiency with MS-Word, MS-Excel, and MS-Visio.
- Experience performing financial analyses or similar tasks.
- Strong knowledge of the business of banking.
- An analytical approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
- Willingness and ability to maintain knowledge of relevant current and emerging technologies and industry trends and best practices.
- Ability to successfully participate in team endeavors and positively influence decision-making processes.
- Willingness and ability to convey highly technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Physical Demands/Conditions Requirements:
- General office environment.
- Moderate lifting (up to 35 lbs), reaching, walking, sitting, and standing required.
Equipment Used:
- General office equipment.
External and internal applications, as well as position incumbents who become disabled, must be able to perform the essential functions either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined by management on an individual basis.
