About this Position
The Data Analyst will work in the Securities Compliance department and act as the principal source of data analysis and reporting for Securities data. The primary responsibility is to complete data request on a pre-determined or ad-hoc basis. Queries will be written in SQL. Expert knowledge of SQL and relational databases are a requirement for this position. Typical reports are formatted in Excel but knowledge of other visualization software such as PowerBI, Tableau, etc. is desired.
Additional tasks will be to assist in data centric project work that could include serving as a data expert for the Securities Compliance team, including formulating and generating statistical reports, organizing and analyzing statistics to determine trends, or other data centric task.
This is a hybrid position - 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.
Salary Range: $65k - $90k
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Essential Functions:
- Develops complex queries in SQL
- Create visually appealing ad-hoc reports
- Serve as data expert for Investment & Savings data
- Identify and develop key indicators, reporting tools and mechanisms to provide new statistical data
- Analyze data elements to validate that Investment & Savings related data is stored accurately
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Business, Computer Science, Management Information Systems preferred or Bachelor’s Degree and equivalent relevant experience
- 3-5 years relevant business experience in data or financial analysis with reporting experience
- SQL skills are required
- Advanced MS Excel skills are required
- PowerBI / Tableau experience is desired
- MS Access knowledge is a plus
- Securities (FINRA) experience is a plus
- Excellent research, analytical, organizational, and math skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and a team player
- Excellent judgment with the ability and experience to make significant strategic decisions
- Ability to work independently while understanding when to seek advice/guidance
- Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities simultaneously and extreme time sensitive deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- FINRA Series Exams (SIE, Series 6, Series 26)
