Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our Threat and Vulnerability Management team as a Vulnerability Management Intern. In this role, you will support the Vulnerability Management Lead and other information security teammates by assisting with research, reviewing processes, and contributing to the documentation of vulnerabilities and security best practices. This internship requires the completion of a capstone project focused on enhancing the organization's security through meaningful contributions to vulnerability management. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the cybersecurity field, understand the operational and strategic initiatives in a security organization, and contribute to enhancing the company’s risk posture.
Key Responsibilities:

Threat Research: Assist in researching new and emerging vulnerabilities in the cybersecurity landscape. Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, trends, and patch releases to help inform internal processes and decision-making.

Vulnerability Assessment and Risk Analysis: Help analyze scan results, categorize vulnerabilities based on severity, and prioritize remediation efforts based on overall risk to the organization.

Process Documentation: Help create and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials to ensure consistency and clarity in vulnerability management practices. Review existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.

Asset Inventory: Correlate asset ownership data with asset inventory in vulnerability prioritization tool.

Assist with Research for Attack Surface Management Program Development: Assist in researching industry best practices and standards for developing an attack surface management program.
Skills and Qualifications:

Basic Understanding of Cybersecurity: A foundational knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and practices. An eagerness to learn more about vulnerabilities and risk management is essential.

Strong Research Skills: Ability to research and synthesize information from various sources, such as cybersecurity blogs, news, and databases, to stay updated on the latest vulnerabilities and threats.

Attention to Detail: Ability to document information accurately, ensuring clarity and precision in reports and process documentation.

Good Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts into easy-to-understand language for non-technical stakeholders.

Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, stay organized, and prioritize effectively to support the team.

Team-Oriented: Willingness to work collaboratively with different departments to ensure a smooth and effective vulnerability management process.

Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
