Why This Role Is Valuable
The Application Security Internship is designed for aspiring cybersecurity professionals with a focus on secure application development and secure coding practices. Interns will gain hands-on experience in securing applications throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC) by working closely with senior engineers and security experts. The internship offers valuable exposure to the integration of security into development processes, including code review, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and secure architecture design.
Interns will also learn how to detect and remediate security flaws, as well as understand key aspects of application security such as OWASP top 10 vulnerabilities, threat modeling, and secure software practices. As part of the internship, participants will work closely with the cybersecurity team to review application code, identify security risks, and support the implementation of mitigation strategies. Interns will also assist in securing cloud environments, managing secure development tools, and monitoring for application-layer threats.
