This position is responsible for developing European import and export activities to ensure compliance with EU and foreign customs laws and regulations as well as audit, maintain, and perform all activities associated with the Company's various Customs initiatives.
This key role is leading excellence in customs and trade compliance management of intercompany goods movements across EU region; ensuring that the provision of this service is fully compliant with customs regional and national legislation requirements as well as other relevant bodies.
How you will contribute
You will:

  • Manage the Company's Customs Compliance and Duty Management process.
  • Manage the Company's Customs Brokerage Operations
  • Managing team of 14 people (7 direct reports) responsible for the day-to-day customs operation of the European Customs Tower to manage customs clearance process for import & export movements across EU region, as well as leading customs projects and preferential origin determination of Mondelez goods.
  • Provide guidance to Customs Tower (compliance) Team members in order to provide best-in-class customer service and duty savings opportunities to each brand / internal Mondelez customer.
  • Coordinate inter-department initiatives and collaborate with various teams, such as, but not limited to, the Logistics teams, Procurement teams, Legal team, Export/Warehouse teams, Tax and Finance teams.
  • Monitor regulatory & legislative changes within the Food industry to ensure the company is acting compliant and in line with required legal standards
  • Providing customs compliance advisory across EU

The final offer will depend on the skills and previous experience of the candidate. We also offer top attractive benefits.
Note: The role is being hired as maternity cover, but with possibility of being extended to unlimited contract in the company based on individual performance.
More about this role

  • Apply and maintain customs authorizations and licenses (Approved exporter, IPR, OPR, CFSP)
  • Managing internal monthly post clearance audits for imported goods to ensure customs compliance and duty accuracy
  • Managing external customs audit, key point of contact for Customs Authorities for the countries in scope UK, IE, DE, ES, LT, IT
  • Customs Solution Management - process owner for direct filling and OPR in MIC, and Thomson Reuters OneSource solution for origin determination
  • Managing RGR Returned goods relief process for Ireland and for EU post Brexit movements
  • Managing customs compliance projects across the MEU region; ensuring that the provision of the service is fully compliant with customs rules and requirements
  • Managing an escalation process for customs non-compliance and its resolution
  • Continuous improvement to achieve best practice standardization.
  • Leading excellence in customs trade management and compliance for origin determination of goods across the MEU region;
  • Ensuring that the provision of this service is fully compliant with customs rules and requirements, as well as other relevant bodies.
  • Managing Preference Origin team with specialists conducting preferential origin determination of Mondelez Products and maintaining standardized management of supplier's declarations for Europe
  • Working alongside our local European export operations team to ensure customs compliance
  • Constant review of all aspects related to changes in Customs legislation
  • Manage awareness of procedural changes across all relevant departments and countries at Mondelez in relation to customs & international trade procedures
  • Managing an annual training schedule for employees to ensure competency on compliance
  • Managing a duty mitigation strategy.
  • Managing the Private Attestation process in EU
