Job Description:

This role in Customer Integration Engineering will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing iSCAAN, a transmission application analysis and vehicle performance simulation program, and DesignCalcs, a transmission installation design utility. This role will also be responsible for co-leading development of a duty cycle database kiosk (Big Data) which will enable the organization to more clearly understand how our products are being used in commercial vehicles and equipment. Activities will include troubleshooting and resolution of customer issues, visualizing and writing requirements to develop new features and functionality, testing new features and functionality and management of system data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • iSCAAN and DesignCalcs
    • Perform vehicle system modelling and simulation, with a focus on transmission performance.
    • Troubleshoot simulation issues with internal and external customers. Work with the programming team to identify and correct code and/or process issues.
    • Identify the need for new simulation and modeling features and capabilities and write requirements to develop them. 
    • Develop Test Cases to effectively validate simulation corrections and enhancements.
    • As a simulation system Administrator, maintain existing and new data files, manage User access and security roles and monitor system performance and usage.
    • Analyze application results to support the creation and revision of transmission and vehicle performance guidelines.
  • Duty cycle database kiosk
    • In conjunction with the Data Science and Analytics team, co-lead development of a self-service portal which provides easy access to summarized vocational and product usage data.
    • Identify the need for new analysis features, capabilities, and summaries and write the requirements to develop them. 
    • Develop Test Cases to effectively validate new duty cycle analysis features.

Key Performance Measures:

  • Accurate application analysis and vehicle performance simulation results
  • Programs are easy to use and understandable by internal and external customer engineering, sales and service personnel.
  • Supports conventional, hybrid, and electrified Allison Transmission products.
  • Helps optimize vehicle powertrain configurations to meet customer requirements.
  • System data is maintained with up-to-date content.
  • Duty cycle self-service kiosk is easy to access and use with meaningful summaries of product usage across multiple categories, such as vocation and transmission model.
  • Cross-functional organization needs for understanding vocations and product use are met.

Qualifications:

  • US person
  • BSME or BSEE with minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Excellent written and spoken business communication skills.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with, train and guide internal and external customers.
  • Attention to details.
  • Familiarity with utilizing MATLAB, Python, Power BI, .Net (C#) and SQL Server.
