GENERAL OVERVIEW:
Performs prescribed CT imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative. Provides supervision of staff and area functions as well as serve as a physician liaison.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs all essential job responsibilities of a CT Technologist, including but not limited to performing age-specific diagnostic imaging per established protocols. Effectively communicates and interacts with patients, physicians, and other team members. Addresses patient and physician concerns. Responds to adverse events and/or any changes with patient's status. (50%)
- Acts a day to day mentor/resource for staff and others within the department. Orients and trains new staff and students. (20%)
- Performs and/or trains others relative to quality assurance activities, quality control, and regulatory testing and accreditation preparation/documentation. (10%)
- Participates in standardization activities and process improvement initiatives with system-level workgroups. (5%)
- Demonstrates proficiency in the performance of specialty exams and analyzes data promptly to resolve problems and improve efficiency. Enter new or edit existing CT scanner protocols. (10%)
- Coverage of chief tech duties as assigned (5%)
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum
- Associate’s Degree; or Certification from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- ARRT (CT) certification or NMTCB (CT) certification
- 2 years’ experience as a CT Technologist
- Incumbents in job profile as of 10/1/2022 have until 4/1/2023 to obtain.
- CPR – American Heart Association
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree
