The Crisis Response and Readiness Manager under the Global Security organization is a key leadership role responsible for Incident Management and Corporate Crisis Management for local, regional, and /or global events that impact Assurant. This role will work closely with business operations teams, people organization (HR), business leaders, and employees to develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive response strategies. The role includes the creation and maintenance of playbooks for various events types, coordinating and conducting testing and exercising of these plans, leading live responses during incidents, and overseeing post-event evaluations and lessons learned
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the incident response capabilities of the organization’s employees and teams. (30%)
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including technology teams, HR, business leaders, and employees, to ensure alignment and readiness. (5%)
- Create, update, and manage detailed incident response playbooks for various types of incidents, including but not limited to natural disasters, outages incidents, infrastructure failures, and security breaches. (15%)
- Design, plan, and execute regular testing and exercises of incident response plans to ensure readiness and identify areas for improvement. (10%)
- Produce concise, written analyses and visual presentations on findings that involve risks to Assurant's people, property, and ideas; continually assess the value, significance, and relevance of information developed
- Provide threat assessments and situational assessments upon request to assist with critical situational awareness
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to conduct tabletop exercises, simulation drills, and full-scale live exercises. (5%)
- Document and communicate the results of exercises, including recommendations for enhancements. (5%)
- Assist in leading the organization’s response during live incidents, coordinating efforts across multiple teams to ensure swift and effective resolution. (5%)
- Conduct thorough post-incident reviews, including gathering feedback from involved teams, analyzing incident response performance, and documenting lessons learned. (10%)
- Develop and implement action plans to address identified gaps or weaknesses in the incident response process. (10%)
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all incident response activities, including playbooks, exercise results, incident reports, and post-incident reviews. (5%)
Basic Qualifications
- · Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Security, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a global crisis management and business resilience/continuity of operations role for Multi-National Corporations and/or State or Federal Offices of Emergency Management.
- Proven experience in developing and managing incident response plans and leading live incident responses.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to incident response and business continuity (e.g., ISO 22301, NIST, ITIL).
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal effectively with senior-level management. Individual must possess a mature ability to deal with stress and make sound professional judgment in potentially threatening environments.
- Ability to solve practical problems and react quickly and calmly to changing or emergency circumstances.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in conducting training and exercises, with strong facilitation and presentation skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick, informed decisions during high-stress situations.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and recommend effective solutions.
Preferred Skills
- FEMA Certifications in ICS, COOP, (PCP, MCP), NIMS, MEPP, ICS, etc.; or ITIL, ASIS/CPP or PSP or ISACA/CISM Certifications preferred.

Pay Range:
$86,000.00 - $143,700.00
Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
