The successful candidate will support all underwriting roles within the department and report into the Vice President of Property & Specialty.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage underwriting calendars
  • Set up submissions
  • Process accounts to be bound or declined
  • Create Underwriting Memos or Referral Templates
  • Use pricing systems to access information for binding
  • Attend market events and meetings as need
  • Review accounts to process both premium and losses
  • Respond to queries and requests
  • Maintain underwriting files
  • Manage contract wording correspondence between broker, internal legal team and underwriting team
  • Assist with reporting / adhoc projects and presentations

The following minimum qualifications and skills are required:

  • 2 years of insurance or reinsurance experience and/or university degree
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Self-discipline and ability to complete tasks independently
  • Willingness to work extended hours and holidays as needed

The individual will also have to be a proven team player and have demonstrated the ability to work effectively within a demanding environment.
