About your role
Fidelity’s investment approach is highly research-based with analysts actively engaged in the investment process.
The credit analysts perform fundamental analysis to evaluate the creditworthiness of an issuer and assess the relative value of its bonds. The investment thesis on an individual corporate security is the results of in-depth sector and company fundamental analysis by the credit analyst and incorporates relative value and liquidity considerations by the analyst in conjunction with the trading desk. The analytical work requires regular issuer contact, possibly travel, and working together with and other team member.
Analysts are highly valued core member of the research and investment team (which include portfolio managers, traders and quantitative research analysts) and actively participate with portfolio managers and traders in strategy sessions that address credit trends, investment decisions and asset allocation.
About you
Your responsibilities and required experience are:
- Be an independent thinker with the ability to effectively articulate an investment thesis and recommendation
- Conduct in-depth credit research; Analyze and make explicit bond recommendations to portfolio managers
- Actively participate with portfolio managers and traders in strategy sessions that address credit trends, investment decisions and asset allocation
- Preparation of research reports to support investment decisions and recommendations, based on her/his own research activities including management meetings, industry and company analysis
- Work collaboratively with the global research team in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore and London
- Adhere to the underlying principles, practices and goals of the Fidelity research approach
- Adhere to the business goals of the Company
- To be familiar with and adhere to the requirements of Fidelity’s code of ethics
Experience and Qualifications Required
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrated and relevant experience as a corporate research or credit analyst
- Experience of covering Chinese credits in onshore market is a must
- Prefer coverage of industrial or financial sector; Experience in both sectors is an advantage for this role
- Basic communication skills in English (Written/Spoken)
- Demonstrate self-driven attitude and learning agility to different fields; Capabilities of conducting independent research
- Proactive in investment idea generation and recommendation
- Strong adaptability to Fidelity’s research protocols and rating approach
