Job Description

Do you want to write direct to consumer content for one of the world’s most recognizable brands and the amazing brands we work with? Are you the kind of person who wants their work to be seen by thousands of people, or would you prefer millions? We are Ad Hock. Visa's internal creative agency. Just as Visa founder Dee Hock revolutionized the way we pay, Ad Hock is taking a new approach to the internal creative team by developing a fully functional advertising agency in-house. Our clients are the biggest brands in banking, retail, fintech and just about anything else you can imagine, and they need our help to reach their audience with impactful creative.

Our agency is rapidly expanding, and we’re looking for a creative copywriter to condense complex payments offerings to snackable copy, email campaigns, the occasional commercial and more. Then you get to write the deck to help sell the idea.

The ideal candidate can come up with concepts ranging from outrageous to grounded. You can switch between short and sweet social copy, to strategic writing to sell a pitch. You’ve got strong writing skills, a passion for creating beautiful work, and a desire to continue improving. Your main focus will be on writing impactful direct response content for email campaigns, but you may be asked to help create content for digital, social, OOH, landing page, videos, commercials and print ads.

This role sits on the creative team and reports to the Creative Strategist, Director of Direct Response.

Responsibilities

  • Write engaging and original copy for various audiences across direct response marketing channels such as email, direct mail, web, digital advertising, social media, and creative pitch decks

  • Research and understand the products, services, and target markets of different clients and craft clear, engaging messages that highlight their unique value propositions and benefits while maintaining a cohesive brand voice and identity

  • Collaborate closely with other creatives, strategists, and account managers to develop and execute effective marketing campaigns and initiatives that align with the client's goals and brand identity

  • Actively participate and contribute to brainstorming sessions

  • Proofread and edit your own and others' copy to ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency, and adherence to style guidelines

  • Stay updated on the latest trends, best practices, and innovations in copywriting, digital marketing, and the industries you work with share learnings across the broader team

  • Adapt your tone and voice to suit different audiences, platforms, and purposes, while maintaining the client's brand personality and identity

  • Present your ideas and work to internal and external stakeholders, thoughtfully incorporate feedback and revisions as needed while maintaining exceptional attention to detail

  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic environment, and prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
-2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)
Preferred Qualifications
-3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
-Portfolio demonstrating experience writing for a range of direct response
channels
-3+ years of experience in copywriting for various media and channels
-Proven ability to write compelling, clear, and persuasive copy that
communicates complex ideas and solutions
-Strong collaboration, communication, and presentation skills
-Natural communicator who is thoughtful, empathetic, and efficient. You are not
afraid to ask questions, voice concerns or identify roadblocks
-Portfolio demonstrating experience writing for a range of direct response
channels
-Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects
-Experience with project management software like Adobe Workfront is a plus

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 105,800.00 to 135,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
