As we build out our international business we are investing further in markets such as EMEA and APAC with Japan a particular focus.  Currently 51% of our revenue in APAC comes from Japan and with great customers like Toyota, Sony Network Communications, NEC, ASICS & CHIBA LOTTE MARINES, we have a great foundation to build upon.

The Role 

We are looking for an experienced leader to take our business to the next level.  As Country Manager, you will be responsible for developing a localized GTM and Customer Experience strategy, managing and building a high-performing cross functional team, establishing Vimeo’s brand and reputation, and delivering sustained, profitable growth.   Reporting to the Vice President of International Sales, you will be a key member of the global leadership team.  

What You Will Do 

  • Develop an overall strategy to profitably expand Vimeo’s position in the Japan market, working in partnership with regional and global stakeholders. 
  • Achieve key business targets while helping to establish a positive brand image and reputation in the Japanese market. 
  • Establish and execute Vimeo’s enterprise sales strategy in Japan.  Directly own the accountability and quota for the enterprise business.  Drive initial penetration into top tier Japanese enterprises and build a sales model to achieve steady growth and scaled success. .  
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop a results-focused Enterprise Sales, Account Management, Pre-Sales Engineering and Customer Success teams working in concert with functional leaders at the regional or global level.  
  • Partner with Self-Serve, Marketing and Technical Support organizations to build out those respective functions in Japan and align on and execute Vimeo’s overall strategy. 
  • Provide ongoing insights and feedback to the Product and Engineering teams and as appropriate help build business cases for local engineering investments.   
  • Provide overall cross-functional leadership to local and regional Japan focused resources, fostering a successful and positive team environment.

Skills and Knowledge You Possess 

  • Experience selling enterprise SaaS solutions and innovative technologies to large organizations with a proven track record of consistently exceeding quotas
  • Experience building and managing sales and cross-functional teams in Japan; proven record of recruiting and enabling top talent.
  • Knowledge of online video technologies, live streaming, advertising, payment, analytics, and technology companies
  • Experience working closely with Japanese partners.
  • Ability to operate with a sense of urgency and value accountability
  • Fluency in written and spoken Japanese AND English
  • Excellent time management, organizational as well as presentation skills
  • Highly motivated and driven by results
