What You'll Bring:
- Law Degree acquired from an Esteemed University
- qualified lawyer admitted to practice law in Philippines
- 5-10 years of solid experience with a reputable Law Firm or Multinational Business
- Experience in contract drafting is a must
- Knowledge in intellectual property, technology, data privacy, business and corporate laws is a must
- Knowledge in regional laws and company secretarial matters would be an advantage
- An adventurous spirit and an inquisitive mind: passion in innovation and courage to take on new challenges
- Ability to handle high demands and pressure with a positive attitude in a challenging environment.
- A team player with strong interpersonal skills & commercially savvy
- Desire to learn new business and upskill legal knowledge
- Ability to work independently and self-motivated with minimal supervision
- Fluency in both spoken and written English
Impact You'll Make:
The Legal Counsel will be responsible for enhancing in PHP compliance by all business units of legal requirements and corporate policies, promoting awareness of relevant legal and compliance requirements generally and minimizing legal risks in business operations and new ventures in the PHP. Provide legal support for all business units in the region. Specific requirements:
- Provide legal support to TransUnion's strategic planning in the region and implementation and identify and minimize pertinent risks involved
- Provide legal support and guidance to establish new businesses in the region contracts with partners and advice on set up of new TransUnion entities to support expansion
- Provide legal support to management and business units on all aspects of business operations already set up in the region and ensure such operations comply with local laws and regulatory provisions and all legal risks are minimized
- Review and act as gatekeeper for all agreements entered into by the company in accordance with corporate requirements
- Coordinate and liaise with privacy commissioners, monetary authorities, banking associations and regulatory authorities in the region in all business activities
- Act as liaison and point of communication between local sites in the region and Corporate Legal including implementation of any corporate initiatives relevant to any business activity and corporate governance
- Manage outside counsel in the giving of legal advice and act as gatekeeper between outside counsel and business units
- Manage Compliance team on all aspects of providing legal and compliance support to business operations in the region;
- Enhance corporate governance in the region by organizing training and raising awareness of staff in local sites and promoting compliance culture
- Oversee all internal and external compliance audits in PHP
This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
