This job is primarily responsible for managing and preparing the annual tax provision under ASC 740, corporate income/franchise tax filings, and quarterly estimated tax filings. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with various tax matters, income tax returns compliance processes, audits, researching tax issues, analyzing tax laws, and documenting conclusions. Additionally, this job prepares journal entries, maintains balance sheet ledgers, and performs various account reconciliations and analysis.
In this job, you will:
- Manage and facilitate the annual tax provision under ASC 740, including related schedules and reports.
- Manage and facilitate workpapers for U.S. federal, state, and local income tax filings.
- Work with the outsourced tax team and oversee the preparation of the company’s U.S. consolidated federal, state, and local income tax returns, as well as other tax documents.
- Ensure an accurate review of the company’s U.S. consolidated federal, state and local tax returns and timely filing of all tax forms, as well as other related tax filings.
- Work with the Tax Director to calculate and prepare quarterly corporate income tax estimated tax payments and extensions.
- Work with the Tax Director in accounting for income taxes in accordance with GAAP and monthly general ledger reconciliations, as well as yearly/monthly tax projections and recommended adjustments as needed.
- Investigate and respond to U.S. federal, state, and local tax notices.
- Research and develop opportunities for strategic tax planning and process improvements over all aspects of the tax process, recommend changes as needed, and implement approved changes.
- Manage and work with field accountants for annual filings overseen by the Tax Department, such as Property Tax filings, 1099s, Unclaimed Property, etc.
- Assist in all areas of U.S. federal, state, and local tax treatment for potential acquisitions.
- Monitor fixed assets, U.S. federal and state tax depreciation treatment.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management, and create strategies to capitalize on changes to tax legislation.
- Manage and facilitate various federal, state, and local audits, prepare responses, create audit schedules, etc. (may involve working with external and government auditing agencies).
- Provide support with various internal audits and special tax related projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Here’s what you’ll need to be considered:
Education
Required – Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
Preferred – Master’s Degree in Tax.
Experience
Required – 5 years’ experience as a corporate tax accountant or with a public accounting firm.
Preferred – Solid experience in U.S. corporate tax compliance, GAAP, ASC 740 (tax provision), and other related U.S. accounting standards and principles.
Preferred – Industry specific experience.
License/Certification
Preferred – CPA or CMA.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; strong use of database and spreadsheet applications (Excel).
- Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with ability to remain flexible to changing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Intermediate alphanumeric data entry; tax research software, computer based tax return software and general ledger systems.
- Ability to prepare clear and concise oral and written reports.
- Ability to work effectively both autonomously and within a team environment.
- Ability to operation with discretion regarding sensitive data.
- Ability to remain driven with a positive attitude.

Physical Demands & Requirements
Sedentary work. Te physical environment requires the employee to work inside where there are limited extremes to heat and/or cold; moderate noise; a normal office environment.
Travel may be required for meetings and trainings.
The expected base pay range for this role is:
$107,900.00 - $136,700.00
Actual pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including work location, job-related knowledge, skills and relevant experience for the job. Pay amount does not guarantee employment for any particular period of time.
