About the opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs, the Corporate Communications Manager will focus on enhancing and protecting reputation while supporting the delivery of strategic business objectives. The Manager is charged with developing a high-performing team that delivers a broad program of work across media, crisis management, executive and internal communications. The Manager will lead day-to-day proactive and reactive media management planning and execution, and act as a spokesperson when required.
A key member of the Corporate Affairs team, the Corporate Communications Manager consistently models a collaborative, curious and proactive approach to their work. The Manager contributes to the team’s growing reputation as trusted, respected and sought-after advisors, both within the business and across key external stakeholder groups.
The Manager will lead the development of cross-functional partnerships, guiding delivery of a best-practice corporate communications model to deliver effective issues management, as well as a strategic mix of proactive commercial campaigns and reputation-focused initiatives.
About you
The skills and experience required in the position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a senior communications role, ideally in a corporate and/or similarly fast-paced and complex environment.
- Proven ability to lead and deliver effective internal and external communications strategies.
- Strong experience in managing proactive and reactive media programs including spokesperson development and crisis response.
- Expertise in building and mentoring a high-performing communications team.
- Ability to provide strategic advice on communication risks and opportunities.
- Experience in managing complex stakeholder relationships and external engagements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience as a corporate spokesperson.
