Core System Developer

To provide our clients with quality services, we need a quality system. Therefore, we are currently looking for a skilled GraphTalk developer for the position of Core System Developer to take care of the platform where we manage life insurance products.

What we do and what our team looks like

We manage and develop one of the core systems of NN Insurance for life insurance products in a specific GraphTalk A.I.A. environment based on the Prolog programming language. It is an object-oriented system with a user interface in the form of a web application used by end users. We are not stereotypical "IT guys" who don't lift their eyes from the monitor. On the contrary, we are in contact with end users and listen to their needs.

We are a small team that includes Václav (Lead Developer), Dana (Business Analyst), plus four other colleagues in developer and tester positions. We value openness, honest communication, and good cooperation, including the willingness to help each other.

What your job will involve

• Designing and developing new functionalities based on user/business requirements.

• Developing new functionalities in the GraphTalk development environment.

• Bug fixing and core system maintenance, incident resolution, and service requests.

• Participating in test plan preparation, active participation, and support during testing.

What we expect from you

• Primarily enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. We know that the technology we work with is not very common, and we are ready to teach you everything you need.

• An interest in exploring problems in depth, striving to find not only solutions but also causes, an interest in analyzing processes, a desire to get acquainted with mathematical calculations that occur in insurance and translate them into IT solutions, independence, and the ability to see things through to the end.

• The ability to design IT solutions based on analysis. You should be able to look for connections and possible impacts.

• Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle) and SQL query formulation.

• Knowledge of both Czech and English languages.

What the recruitment process will look like

You will have a phone screening call with Petra (Talent Acquisition Partner) regarding basic information, followed by two rounds of interviews. In the first round, where we will take a closer look at your experience and the details of our position, you will meet online with Petra and Václav. If we decide to proceed further, you will have a personal meeting with Václav and Philippe (Head of Core Systems) to finalize technical questions.
