Core Policy/Data Platform Intern

Location: Hybrid, Sunnyvale, California (3-5 days in office)

This is a 12 week internship program beginning on May 27th 2025 or June 23rd 2025. This internship is based in Sunnyvale, California, and will require a hybrid work schedule. Please note that we are unable to provide relocation assistance at this time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the product and engineering teams to help implement features based on customer feedback, ensuring that customer needs are effectively incorporated into product development.

• Contribute to efforts aimed at improving the scalability and performance of Illumio’s policy management systems to support larger and more complex customer deployments.

• Work alongside cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, and customer support teams to understand customer pain points, translate them into actionable requirements, and develop innovative solutions.

• Participate in analyzing customer feedback, reviews, and insights to identify recurring themes or issues, and help prioritize feature development based on customer needs.

• Translate customer needs into technical requirements and scalable solutions that can be deployed to a broad customer base.

• Tackle challenging problems related to scalability and performance optimization while ensuring that customer satisfaction is a top priority.

Experience:

•  Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor's Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field degree-seeking program with an expected graduation date in Winter 2025/Spring 2026.

• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Ruby, Python, Java, or Go.

• Familiarity with web development technologies (e.g., REST APIs, front-end frameworks) is a plus.

• Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.

• Exposure to or coursework on scalability, distributed systems, or cloud computing.

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• A passion for learning and continuous improvement.

Compensation:

$ 37 USD
