We are hiring a Mine Operations Coordinator at our Base Mine in Fort McMurray! In this role, you will use equipment knowledge to ensure safe, productive, and efficient oversight of the people and equipment in a staffed and Autonomous mining environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience in Mine Operations open pit mining with 2 years of leadership / supervisory experience.
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
  • Experience of Autonomous Haulage System is a strong asset.
  • A strong working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations and an understanding of loss management techniques.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP.
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for monitoring real time shift production KPIs and collaborate closely with peers to maximize shift by shift performance including field visits when required.
  • Read, understand and execute the mine plan including IFC drawings.
  • Understand regulatory and environmental standards such as Tailings facility management, dam construction etc.
  • Understand and align with all internal standards, work practices and guidelines as well as external regulatory obligations.
  • Participate in incident investigations, capture evidence.
  • Collaborate with functional and cross-functional peers and leaders to influence business outcomes (including mine ops, extraction, maintenance, safety reps, etc).

Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of our Base Plant Mine in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
  • The shift schedule is a six days on/six days off rotation (three days on, three nights on, six days off; 12-hour shifts).
  • This position is safety sensitive.
  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory.
