What you will do
You will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of control systems in various projects, ensuring that all systems operate efficiently and safely.
How you will do it

Assist in the development and implementation of control systems for manufacturing processes and equipment.

Utilize problem-solving tools, including flow diagrams, fishbone diagrams, and statistical analysis, to identify, analyze, and resolve process inefficiencies or defects. Conduct root cause analysis on system failures and implement corrective actions using problem-solving methodologies.

Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with control hardware and software, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), and SCADA systems.

Interpret electrical prints and schematics to effectively troubleshoot and maintain control systems.

Collaborate with engineers to design and modify control strategies for improved process performance by applying structured problem-solving techniques.

Support maintenance technicians in troubleshooting and resolving control system issues, providing guidance and training as needed.

Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on control systems to ensure optimal operation and compliance with industry standards.

Document control system specifications, procedures, and changes for future reference.
What we look for
Required
-
Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, or a related field; or equivalent experience.

2+ years of experience in a similar role within an industrial or manufacturing setting.

Proficiency in programming languages used for automated systems (e.g., ladder logic, structured text).

Strong knowledge of control systems, instrumentation, and automation technologies.
Preferred
-
Knowledge of robotics and machine control systems.

Familiarity with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices.

Experience with specific control platforms (Ex. Rockwell Allen-Bradley PLC-HMI’s, COGNEX or Keyence vision systems).

Our Toledo, Ohio fully integrated plant manufactures batteries used in automotive and marine applications. This is our largest plant at Clarios. We opened our facility in 1981 and now employ more than 700 people and operate six days per week. We are actively involved in our local community and give back through the United Way, Habitat for Humanity, Cherry Street Mission, and Ronald McDonald House.
