As Controller, you will have the opportunity to be a part of Engrain's growth and dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for budget management, financial analysis, payroll, forecasting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and is well-versed in working closely with management. In this role you'll work not only on traditional accounting tasks but also play a critical role in speaking into the processes and workflows to lay the groundwork for scaling an efficient and effective accounting/finance function as the organization grows. This role supervises a small but mighty team of 5 and reports to the VP of Finance & Accounting.
What you'll do...
- Manages and oversees day-to-day accounting operations: This includes treasury, billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger management, tax, and revenue recognition.
- Drives the month-end close process, seeking continuous improvement, speed and accuracy.
- Manages and mentors the accounting/finance team
- Monitors the financial performance and cashflow of the company that enables the business to make optimal decisions.
- Compiles and analyzes financial reporting packages
- Develops and manages financial controls in accordance with regulations and the company's policy and procedures
- Implements best practices as it relates to systems, processes, and procedures focused on data accuracy and timeliness
- Is a business partner to all functions on accounting-related matters as the company continues to grow and scale
- Acts as primary contact for external financial partners and auditors along with managing associated processes
- Participates in the development and support of the company's strategic plans
What you offer us...
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; CPA preferred but not required
- Minimum 7 plus years as a Controller or Assistant Controller preferably in a SaaS software business with at least 3 years managing personnel.
- Prior experience in a private equity owned business a plus
- Experience evolving processes, controls and systems to support a growth stage company
- Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce required
- Experience with Workato is desired
- Demonstrated experience in applying US GAAP
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment for a rapidly growing business
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work closely with the senior management team
- Ability to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels

- Salary Disclosure for Colorado: annual salary of $150,000 - $180,000. Final offer amount is determined by factors including years and depth of candidate's experience, certifications, and skill set alignment to the job requirements
