As the Controller, you will oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. You will play a critical role in driving financial strategy, managing audits, and implementing best practices to scale our financial operations. The ideal candidate has deep experience in SaaS finance, revenue recognition (ASC 606), and subscription-based business models.
You Will:
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, ASC 606, and other relevant accounting standards.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
- Support FP&A processes, providing financial insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Partner with the CFO and executive team to refine financial strategies and drive business performance.
- Manage financial planning for SaaS metrics such as ARR, MRR, churn, CAC, and LTV.
- Oversee tax filings, audits, and regulatory compliance, working with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Maintain adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations, as well as international tax compliance if applicable.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Manage and optimize accounting software, ERP, and financial tools.
- Support fundraising, M&A, and investor reporting efforts as needed.
- Lead and mentor a growing finance and accounting team.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Sales, Operations, and Product to ensure financial alignment.
You Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
- 7+ years of accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or senior finance role within a SaaS or tech company.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, ASC 606, and financial reporting for SaaS companies.
- Experience with NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar accounting/ERP software.
- Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Detail-oriented with a hands-on approach in a fast-paced startup environment.
