Job Description

The ideal candidate for the Controller role will have 10+ years of progressive accounting experience. They will already know the hospitality industry or have job cost accounting experience. The ideal candidate is willing and able to do all required accounting functions ranging from inventory management, budgeting, forecasting, journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, notes payable, notes receivable, inter-company billing, inter-company payables and receivables, sales and use tax, payroll and job cost management for Unbridled Hospitality Group LLC, and related entities. 
We are a small team in need of an intelligent, self-motivated person to create and manage financial processes for our related entities, as well as successfully review essential functions such as payroll, purchasing, inventory and cash management. This person will not be micro-managed, so it is imperative you are a self-starter that can work successfully, accurately, and timely with limited supervision.

  • Must understand debits and credits and have experience posting journal entries managing cash flows, and analyzing balance sheets and income statements
  • Technically savvy – Advanced Microsoft Office experience required
  • Experience with financial accounting systems required; QuickBooks Online software a plus

What you would be doing at Unbridled:

Forecasting & Budgeting:

  • Manage the Unbridled Hospitality Group budget, ensuring all purchases are within the budget and updating the budget in a timely manner for all outlets.
  • Prepare and present monthly financial statements showing variance analysis along with a deep understanding of the why and how behind these variances.
  • Manage the Unbridled Hospitality Group forecast for all outlets, ensuring updated forecasts align with monthly working budgets.
  • Work closely with the Unbridled Solutions Finance Team to ensure proper coding & recording of all entries in QuickBooks.
  • Review, code and upload all Capital One purchase receipts to the server.
  • Monitor third-party billing and payments from sales.
  • Work with the Solutions Finance Team to ensure a timely and accurate month-end close.

Inventory & Procurement:

  • Establish and implement inventory purchasing, tracking and receipt of purchase processes, as well as a process for recording waste, comps, staff meals, etc.
  • Oversee all activities related to purchasing food, beverage and any supplies and materials.
  • Review, compare, analyze, and approve products and services to be purchased.
  • Manage inventories weekly and maintain accurate purchase and pricing records.
  • Maintain and update supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
  • Responsible for the timely billing of all direct bill accounts with complete backup and accurate invoices saved to the server.

Assist with employee compensation and benefits as needed, such as:

  • Assist with analysis of benefits offered by competing companies in the geographical area and industry to ensure the company is offering competitive wages.
  • Assist with Health/Dental/Vision annual procurement, renewals, and completion of employee acceptance/decline forms.
  • Work with the HR team to ensure pay rates align with state guidelines.
  • Assist with employee loans, ensuring they are approved and properly paid.
  • Implement and maintain an accurate and understandable system for calculating and paying quarterly bonuses and commissions to team members.
  • Ensure pay raises are accounted for in the budget before they are given.


Any and other duties related to Unbridled Hospitality Group and Canon City entities as they arise:

  • Daily audit of cash deposits.
  • Maintain & renew applicable business licenses including but not limited to retail, sales tax, and liquor licenses
  • Ensure all accounting related disputes and requests for clarification are resolved and responded to within 24 hours.
  • Ensure daily filing of documents needed for research requests from guests and in-house users.
  • Ensure an effective tracking system for all rebates/adjustments.
  • Monitor transaction flow from POS to PMS to prevent loss of revenue.
  • Other duties as they arise.
