Controller for Managed IT Services Provider
A leading provider of IT Managed Services in New York City/ Northern New Jersey is looking for an experienced, hands-on Controller to lead all accounting operations and support strategic decision-making through improved financial reporting and analysis. This onsite role is critical to our continued growth and success and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, A/R, A/P, payroll, and month-end close

Oversee HR compliance

Lead and mentor accounting staff

Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including monthly, quarterly and annual reports.

Develop and implement a formal budgeting and forecasting process for the organization and each department

Analyze client profitability and work with leadership to identify improvement opportunities

Ensure accurate sales tax filing and compliance
-
Ensure compliance with US GAAP and other relevant financial regulations

Improve internal controls and accounting procedures as the company scales

Manage relationships with external auditors, tax professionals, and financial institutions

Collaborate closely with the executive team to support strategic initiatives and business planning

Manage the company's tax compliance obligations, including federal, state, and local taxes
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
-
6 to 10 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a growing company or professional services/outsourcing environment. Preferably experience with a IT managed service provider highly preferred

Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting

Experience implementing budgeting processes and improving financial systems

Excellent analytical skills with a focus on actionable insights

Proficient in Quick Books Online and other accounting software

Proven experience in financial reporting, analysis and planning.

Hands-on management style with a proactive and collaborative approach

Exceptional communication and leadership skills
