Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and proactive Control Room Operator for one of our valued clients. As a Control Room Operator, you will manage some infrastructure operations, monitor alarms and system conditions, ensure compliance with operational practices and procedures, and contribute to continuous process improvements within a Data Center environment. This role is pivotal in maintaining the efficiency and safety of their operations.

  • Arrangement: Onsite - Centre Pointe Dr., North Charleston, SC 29418 
  • Schedule: Rotating shift work requiring days, nights, weekends and holidays to support 24x7 operations
  • Travel: Some occasional traveling required for site visits

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate infrastructure and monitor/analyze alarms/alerts from various systems and equipment.
  • Follow complex verbal instruction, established procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions in response to normal operations, alarms, incidents, or emergencies.
  • Escalate issues to appropriate personnel and authorities according to predefined protocols and practice.
  • Maintain accurate records of all alarms, incidents, and actions taken.
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to coordinate responses and resolutions.
  • Proactively identify potential issues and suggest improvements to existing procedures, practices or systems.
  • Operate and maintain control room equipment and systems in accordance with operational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports to management as required.
  • Participate in training sessions, self-learning, and drills to maintain readiness and proficiency.  

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in a relevant field preferred.
  • Proven experience in a operations control room or similar operational environment is highly advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm and make logical decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and software relevant to control room operations.
  • Understanding of safety and security protocols.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Hands on experience with Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications.
