In this role, you’ll be responsible for real-time remote monitoring, operation, and dispatch of Nexamp’s solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage assets. As the portfolio grows, you’ll play a key role in evolving our operational capabilities. You’ll lead by example—mentoring Distributed Generation Operators, optimizing asset performance, and ensuring safe, compliant operations in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. You will report to the Manager, Operations Center. This role will be an in-person, rotating shift-based role out of our Lawrence, MA, Operations Center.

What you’ll do:

  • Monitor and control Nexamp’s 1+ GW fleet, identifying alarms, anomalies, and performance issues to maintain stable, efficient operations.
  • Apply critical thinking during abnormal conditions and undocumented events to ensure safety and power continuity.
  • Lead and train Distributed Generation Operators in remote operations, troubleshooting, utility coordination, and emergency response.
  • Help develop and refine SOPs, including procedures for future utility-scale assets.
  • Optimize operations based on defined protocols to maximize revenue and savings for our customers while meeting safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate with ISOs, transmission operators, and field personnel for maintenance planning and response to disruptions.
  • Follow escalation protocols and respond to abnormal conditions in accordance with SOPs.
  • Record system data, maintain accurate logs, and generate reports as required.
  • Operate using a variety of data acquisition, SCADA, original equipment manufacturer, and monitoring tools to identify, track, and resolve real-time issues and lifecycle underperformance.
  • Maintain constant vigilance and readiness during shifts, ensuring rapid, informed responses to any operational event.
  • Complete all required internal and external training, including NERC/ISO certifications, as applicable.
  • Collaborate across departments to provide operational feedback and support continuous improvement across all aspects of our fully vertically integrated renewable energy business.

What you’ll bring:

  • A 2-year degree in Electrical Technology/Engineering (Bachelor’s degree preferred) or equivalent experience is required.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in a generation control room or high-tempo watch-standing environment (military, maritime, or utility).
  • Proficiency in SCADA systems, MS Office Suite, and digital monitoring platforms.
  • Basic understanding of the Bulk Electric System, renewable power generation, and high-voltage transmission.
  • Ability and availability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, 365 days a year, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willingness to cover open shifts as needed and travel for training or remote site work (occasional overnight).
  • Willingness and ability to develop and complete an extensive in-house training program as well as NERC or ISO equivalent certification programs in order to pass a certification exam and/or meet industry requirements and subsequently maintain these qualifications, as required.
  • Willingness to travel to remote sites for work or training activities including over-night trips, if required
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and contribute to internal and external reporting
  • This role is for a detail oriented, attentive, pro-active operator who loves troubleshooting.
  • Commitment to Nexamp's mission and have a passion for solving tomorrow's climate crisis today.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization.
  • Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization. We value accountability and an ownership mentality.
  • Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
  • Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry.
  • Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and then apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions.

If you don’t meet 100% of the above qualifications, but see yourself contributing, please apply.
