Job Summary:
The Contracts Manager is responsible for the contract life cycle, types of contracts, and applicable regulations as it relates to government contracting. This role requires a deep understanding of DOD contracting processes, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in drafting, negotiating and managing contracts within the Dept of Defense (DOD) industry. 
Job Duties/Responsibilities (List not all inclusive):

  • Oversees the lifecycle of the company’s government contracts, from proposal to close out, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Facilitates contract negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to secure favorable terms and conditions
  • Ensure all contracts comply with company policies and associated regulations (i.e., FAR/DFARS, ITAR, and other relevant guidelines)
  • Ensures contracts are administered and monitored to maintain compliance with the terms of agreements
  • Identifies and mitigates contractual risks, providing strategic advice to senior management
  • Prepares, reviews, and maintains all contractual documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Works closely with project managers, legal teams, and other stakeholders to ensure contract terms are met and project goals are achieved
  • Generates regular reports on contract status, performance metrics, and compliance issues for senior management
  • Collaborates with multi-disciplinary team to align contract processes with strategic goals

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in federal contracting processes to include Dept. of Defense (DoD)
  • Proficient in federal budgetary processes to include funding types
  • Knowledgeable in state/local funding processes Adept at meeting deadlines and scheduling and managing tasks effectively
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and rapport building skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Adept at meeting deadlines and scheduling and managing tasks effectively
  • Skilled with assessing and mitigating risk and maintaining cost control
  • In-depth understanding of DoD contracting regulations (i.e., FAR/DFARS, ITAR, etc.)
  • Highly proficient in using MS Office Suite (SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint,)
  • Proficient with contract management software
  • Meets U.S. citizenship and work eligibility requirements for federal contractors


Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (from an accredited college or university) in Business Administration, Law, or a related field required, master's preferred
  • Minimum 8 years’ proven contracts management experience
  • DoD related experience preferred (may include military, civil service, or defense contracting)
  • Contracts certifications (i.e., Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) preferred
