Role Description
20th century laws don't always solve 21st century problems, and GFiber Legal crafts innovative approaches for handling some of the toughest legal challenges of the information age.
As Contracts and Legal Operations Manager at GFiber, you'll work on the legal issues for disruptive products and approaches that require creative and proactive legal guidance. You'll be part of an innovative and business-driven group of in-house lawyers, contract managers, and paralegal staff. You will partner in initiatives that influence all aspects of the business and work with GFiber employees from all over the company. As an integrated part of the GFiber team, you will proactively assess legal risks and advise on the deployment of our fiber optic and wireless networks, resolve disputes, and help launch new markets and products.
In this role, you'll:
- Work in a hybrid capacity with our Technology, Operations and Product team to track, draft, and manage critical contracts.
- Track, assess, and respond to and resolve inbound claims, complaints, disputes, and governmental inquiries.
- Develop and enforce processes and policies to manage outside counsel spend.
- Manage access and legal billing process work flows.
- Work with the Finance Team on tracking legal accruals data.
- Work with the General Counsel on other Legal Operations matters such as reporting metrics, presentations and trainings.
At a minimum we'd like you to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of law firm or in-house experience supporting a legal team in one or more of the following areas: contract management, litigation support, or legal operations.
- 2 years of experience with drafting contracts or legal documents.
It's preferred if you have:
- Paralegal or equivalent qualification.
- Experience with anticipating needs, solving problems, and developing solutions.
- Ability to tailor messages to the relevant audiences, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in the broadband, telecommunications, cable, construction, or information/entertainment industries.
- Experience managing litigation or Corporate Organizational tasks such as managing board minutes or legal entities.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $78,000 - $114,000 + bonus + cash award + benefits. As pay varies by location, your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
