Bungie is looking for a Contract Narrative Designer to join the Destiny 2 team. In this role you will work closely with the various small teams to write strings, create scripts, and collaborate on narrative experiences in activities and missions. You will participate in a process and culture that relies on providing and receiving feedback to shepherd content through all phases of production.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Align with the Narrative Lead and Narrative Director on pillars and goals for Expansion level Narrative content.
- Ferry a project from early stages through release lock
- Ensure narrative scope and schedules align with the production plan and are achievable
- Advise, and facilitate the development of narrative content through documentation, review, and regular syncs with the small teams
- Generate and maintain story treatments, character bios, environment guides, casting documents, and other supporting narrative documentation
- Own, build and execute on the vision for the narrative experience of the expansion campaign
- Create captivating mission dialogue and cinematic content that remain on tone with the established style of the franchise and the product
- Promote excellence in storytelling craft through feedback
- Identify opportunities to expand and deepen narrative channels
- Promote an inspiring, creative, and enjoyable work environment
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Game industry experience on AAA games or MMOs
- Outstanding communication, diplomacy, and negotiation skills
- Detailed understanding of all aspects of the narrative design development process, including design methodology, craftsmanship, production, and collaboration with external cinematic and voice vendors
- Experience orchestrating high quality, large-scale narrative content across multiple story channels
- Understanding of game production, design tools, and systems
- Ability to assess and emulate the tone, themes and character voices of Destiny
- Comfortable working with proprietary tools
NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS
- Background in writing and a passion for storytelling in non-gaming media
- Experience working on a live game ("game as a service")
Listed below is this role's base pay range within the greater Seattle area. In other locations approved for remote work by Bungie and our external resource vendors, this pay range may be adjusted to the local market and some roles may be classified as non-exempt (hourly),
This range is determined by an array of factors, including training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. Additionally, it is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Bellevue Pay Range
$102,000—$124,000 USD

Most Bungie full-time employees will adopt a digital first approach allowing remote work in Bungie approved locations (outside of positions identified as 100% onsite in Bellevue/Seattle, or individuals preferring a hybrid/flex environment).
