ABOUT THE JOB.
T he Continuous Improvement (CI) manager is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing initiatives to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness across the organization for our two McCain Appetizers plants located in Kruiningen and Rilland (Zeeland).
The CI manager will facilitate and promote the McCain continuous improvement program (MDI: McCain Driving Impact) and be responsible for managing the SCA (Sustainable Cost Advantage) program.
For the first year, part of the role will be to support the implementation of our new ERP system, SAP.
He/She will lead the technical trainer and be a member of the Plant Management Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and promote McCain Safety and Food Safety & Quality programs.
- Implement McCain Driving Impact program: Deploy strategies for continuous improvement initiatives.
- Sustainable Cost Advantage: Develop and implement strategy to deliver sustainable cost savings in collaboration with all plant stakeholders and SCA team
- Analyse Processes: Conduct thorough analyses of current processes to identify areas for improvement, waste reduction, and cost savings.
- Project Management: Lead and manage improvement projects from conception through completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to objectives.
- Training and Development: Train and mentor employees on continuous improvement methodologies and tools, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Data analytics: Develop a data centric decision-making culture throughout the plant maintenance.
- Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of improvement initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments (Production, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, ...) to ensure alignment and integration of initiatives.
- Change Management: Facilitate change management processes to ensure successful adoption and implementation of new practices and technologies.
- Reporting: Prepare and present reports on project status, progress, and outcomes to senior management and stakeholders.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR.
- HBO/academic education in Food Technology, Technical Business Administration, Engineering or a similar field.
- Affinity with a production organization in the food sector or a comparable manufacturing industry.
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in applying Lean principles to establish and cultivate a continuous improvement structure and culture.
- A people manager with the drive and mindset to achieve results while encouraging people in their development.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Excellent communication (in both Dutch and English) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence effective decision-making with cross-functional teams.
- Proven capability to develop and maintain strong collaborative plant relationships.
