As a Content Marketing Manager at BuildOps, you will be a key contributor to our brand communications strategy, focusing on creating and executing engaging content across various online and offline channels, including paid, social, direct mail, events, and web. Collaborating closely with the Content team and the wider marketing team, you will help develop and implement our content calendar, ensuring a consistent and impactful brand voice. A crucial aspect of this role will be elevating our thought leadership by writing bylines for BuildOps executives and ghostwriting pieces for strategic media placement. You will be passionate about understanding our personas, tailoring messaging that resonates, and possess strong project management skills to manage schedules and deadlines effectively.
What You’ll Do:
- Master and effectively utilize BuildOps' brand voice, tone, messaging, and positioning for all internal and external communications.
- Write and produce clever, engaging, and helpful creative content that directly speaks to the needs and challenges of our customers.
- Contribute to, communicate within, and track progress using the BuildOps content calendar, collaborating closely with the Content team.
- Contribute to the achievement of monthly content goals, quarterly strategic objectives, and KPIs.
- Collaborate in the conception and execution of messaging for integrated marketing campaigns designed to drive revenue across all market segments.
- Contribute to the development of the content journey for our prospects.
- Conduct thorough research on competitors, interview internal team members, and engage directly with our customers to uncover compelling content opportunities.
- Contribute to the monitoring of content engagement KPIs, providing data-backed insights to inform content optimization efforts in collaboration with the Content team.
- Write bylines and contribute to thought leadership pieces on behalf of BuildOps executives for publication on our channels and external platforms.
- Ghostwrite articles, opinion pieces, and other content for strategic media placement to enhance BuildOps' brand reputation and reach, potentially specializing in certain publications or themes.
- Write and update a variety of content formats including articles, interviews, blog posts, collateral, emails, customer success stories, whitepapers, recruitment materials, and video scripts.
- Manage assigned content schedules, timelines, and deadlines with exceptional organizational skills.
- Empathize deeply with our target personas and tailor messaging to specific audience segments while ensuring consistent brand alignment.
- Maintain expert-level command of grammar and syntax, serving as a key proofreader for your own and potentially your colleague's content.
- Communicate clearly and effectively across all levels, whether interacting with customers, team members, or media contacts.
- Demonstrate strong time management and project management abilities.
- Be a proactive and collaborative team player, working effectively with the Content and Marketing teams.
What We Look For:
- 5+ years of content, communications, or creative writing experience, with a proven track record of contributing to content strategy across online and offline channels.
- Strong content research, development, and execution experience across various formats.
- Demonstrated ability to create content for diverse audience segments and personas.
- Solid thematic thinking and attention to detail, with the ability to understand overall business objectives and contribute to well-aligned content strategies and execution plans with clearly defined KPIs.
- Familiarity with marketing collaboration tools and content management systems.
- Expert-level proficiency in grammar and syntax, with strong proofreading skills.
- Excellent communication skills, adaptable to various audiences and mediums.
- Proven ability to manage time and projects effectively.
- A proactive and collaborative team player with a strong work ethic.
- Passion and drive for creating impactful content.
- Must be able to work in office three days a week on a hybrid schedule in Los Angeles, Toronto, or Raleigh.
