JOB PURPOSE

CONMEBOL Libertadores and CONMEBOL Sudamericana digital brand is growing, and we need great minds that love soccer to join us. We’re looking for a Content Coordinator to plan, create, assign, manage and execute editorial plans that will thrive on FC DIEZ MEDIA managed platforms for these competitions.

The successful candidate will manage complete content workflows for the competition’s Spanish Digital ecosystem, transforming the Digital Marketing strategy into content strategy and operation, including multiple content formats on all digital platforms. As a proven team manager, this position will proactively work with direct reports (writers, editors and community managers) and collaborate with multiple areas to synchronize the content plan, production processes and partners (producers, video editors, designers) to complete the workflow from strategy to publishing, directly contributing on creating an engaging digital experience for the football fan in South America.

The content manager is an expert in social media management and platforms, a trend setter, sensitive and aware of social media performance and data. This role tracks performance of all digital channels for continuous improvement. A vast knowledge and understanding of South American football, it’s calendar and stakeholders is required to ensure a value proposition for our key audiences is thoroughly delivered with the content strategy, knowing what our audience wants before they do and how best to present it.

You’ll have a proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously, adaptable and quick to react to the news agenda.

KEY DELIVERABLES (WHAT WILL YOU DO IN YOUR ROLE?)

  • Manage social media in line with the Digital Team, being a key driver of TikTok, Shorts and YouTube in Spanish channels.
  • Optimize content and materials, including multiple media formats, copy and articles to ensure that they are maximizing their potential to attract and engage users aligned with the global strategy and key business objectives.
  • Proactively make suggestions regarding content ideas & concepts that are relevant to our audiences in our digital ecosystem.
  • Coordinate a team of editors, writers and community managers, synched with cross-functional teams and partners to deliver the social media operation.
  • Edit and publish content on social media platforms, website and Apps, with high focus on vertical video and younger audiences.
  • Undertake industry, competitor and market research to identify new content trends and concepts in Latin America in Sports and beyond.
  • Monitor social media performance and target tracking, align strategies to executable tactics and operations that build towards reaching our objectives.
  • Plan and distribute content operations workload among full-time employees and freelance content producers.
  • Liaise with Spanish, English and Portuguese editions to synch content creation and publication.
  • Liaise with CONMEBOL to coordinate content creation.
  • Liaise and brief video, design and production departments to coordinate content creation.
  • Write, edit and publish articles.
  • Writing scripts, lead the production of episodic content and videos in Spanish.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of six years of digital sports marketing or journalistic experience.
  • Large experience in team coordination.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent news sense and content instinct, especially with newer platforms like TikTok, Shorts and Reels.
  • High level of football knowledge, particularly across major South Americana tournaments.
  • Outstanding copywriting abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong time-management and interpersonal skills.
  • Expert at posting engaging content across social media platforms.
  • Brand savvy, audience focused, digital native – passionate and knowledgeable about digital content.
  • Experience in social media analytics, ideally in platforms like Emplifi and Hookit.
  • High level of understanding of social media and the new ways of communication.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
  • Knowledge in video direction.
  • Good level of understanding of freelancer’s management.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience & knowledge of utilizing industry standard keyword research tools, including, but not limited to AHREFs, SEMRUSH and Google Trends.
  • Experience using content analysis tools, such as Google Analytics and Chartbeat.
  • Fluent or able to understand Portuguese.

This new venture holds responsibility for all global media rights sales and commercial consultancy across CONMEBOL Libertadores, Sudamericana and Recopa competitions, ranging from game presentation and competition formats to brand development and digital promotion. We were established at the start of 2018 and our goal is to elevate the CONMEBOL club competition products to world class standards and transform the digital experience for a global South American football audience.

FC Diez Media maintains offices in Asuncion, Paraguay, Sao Paulo, Brazil and in Buenos Aires Argentina. The headquarters and main operational office of FC Diez Media sits in Asuncion and also acts as the main liaison between FC Diez Media and CONMEBOL. The office in Sao Paulo has a Marketing and Sponsorship delivery focus and the office in Buenos Aires is heavily involved in the success of the Broadcasting and Digital environments of CONMEBOL Club Competitions.
