What We'll Bring:
Test Automation Engineer
We’re looking for a Test Automation Engineer to join the Data Loading & Staging team of our Credit business, who are responsible for creating and maintaining the platform that processes the core financial data coming into the organization.
You’ll be using your knowledge and enthusiasm of modern engineering practices to help us deliver high quality products, working with your team to ensure quality throughout the process. You'll be working with both new and existing data loads based on SQL Server and C# Services, with different technologies being assessed as we improve the platform over time. This will be done whilst ensuring that the live service of the products is protected, and the business is supported through roadmap deliveries.
You will be part of a team of around 7 people, made up from development and test engineers, supporting technical decision making and helping to identify and improve test coverage through automation. You will work in a highly collaborative environment and improve the processes of the team and across the development department, as a member of the Development Community.
As an experienced automation tester, you will map requirements, identify opportunities to improve automated test coverage, help maintain automation frameworks, author feature files, and develop and maintain existing tests. You will also support other testing activities within the team as and when required.
What You'll Bring:
Key Tasks / Responsibilities
- Development of automated tests predominantly using Specflow feature files with C# .NET glue code.
- Write well-structured, maintainable code.
- Be involved in process improvement and improving team maturity.
- Collaborate with the team, assisting and supporting less experienced colleagues as required.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and internal teams to resolve reported issues as quickly as possible.
- Participate in delivery of quality assurance artefacts to ensure products are fit for purpose and meet regulation.
Qualifications/Experience/Competencies
Essential
- C# .NET software engineer skills.
- Experience using Visual Studio, VSCode, LINQ and Entity framework.
- Experience authoring features files using gherkin syntax.
- Experience building automated test packs.
- Requirements analysis experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of User Stories and Acceptance Criteria.
- You have a curiosity for new technologies and techniques and keep yourself up to date.
- You are familiar and competent with build & release pipelines.
- You can communicate well, both with technical and non-technical staff.
Desirable
- Azure or other cloud platform experience.
- Experience of BDD tools such as Specflow using Gherkin.
- Experience writing PowerShell scripts.
- Experience with Octopus Deploy or Azure DevOps.
- Experience of working in Scrum/Kanban Agile teams.
- Experience of knowledge sharing.
- Understanding of DevOps principles.
- Understanding of API tools such as Ready Api.

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
