THE ROLE

The Consultant, Client Development - Interim will be seen as a trusted advisor to our clients, developing relationships to identify, nurture, and bring impactful solutions to clients. The Consultant will take the initiative in developing a client plan and identifying when to bring in and partner with talent delivery team members. The Consultant will also bring the very best of themselves, living the WittKieffer values in all that they say and do, and continually seek opportunities to develop themselves and others.

This position offers a base salary of $115,000 to $155,000 and is eligible for the Interim Bonus Plan. Salary within our ranges is determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. WittKieffer offers a full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, life and disability insurances, and generous paid time off.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development:

  • Develops market and account plans to reach targets.

  • Identifies potential clients and develops paths to build relationships; incorporates other solutions as needed.

  • Learns how to become a trusted advisor.

  • Works closely with BD principal or TD principal to nurture client accounts.

  • Helps pull together proposals focused on client needs and deliver the best client solutions and impact.

  • Identifies opportunities to extend or enhance a project and contributes to those discussions.

  • Ensures follow up and good record keeping.

  • Determines budget and target economics.

  • Works closely with TD to address client's needs; discusses budgets and helps drive target economics.

  • Discusses weekly range/rate and specific terms for the engagement, subject to appropriate approvals.

  • Participates in ensuring MSAs and NDAs are put in place.

Client Management and Impact:

  • Has a solid understanding across all WittKieffer services; is building their knowledge in one industry and understanding the marketplace. Owns small to midsize client relations and/or large company relations in conjunction with senior support.

  • Can clearly communicate the capabilities of our interim and on-demand leaders and where they add value to a client.

  • Manages small to mid-size accounts.

  • Focuses on offering to support solutions that deliver measurable client impact.

  • Participates in teams across WittKieffer to understand client needs and develop solutions.

  • Supports in research on client/sector business issues, with a view to identifying other areas for positive impact on our clients’ business.

  • Develops a network of client relationships to understand their needs and consequently increase opportunities to support them.

 

Client Delivery (Working in Partnership with Talent Delivery):

  • Works with and coordinates activities with talent delivery across clients.

  • Identifies opportunity areas by sharing talent or providing ideas to grow business with existing clients.

  • Identifies issues and escalates.

  • Assists TD in contracting as needed.

Brand Positioning:

  • Participates and provides input to thought leadership.

  • Posts and is active on LinkedIn.

Development of Self and Others:

  • Demonstrates WittKieffer's values.

  • Consistently behaves as a positive member of a diverse, equitable, and inclusive place to work.

  • Actively seeks opportunities to develop peers or more junior team members.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required; Masters preferred.

Specific Knowledge and Experiences Preferred:

  • 5+ years in consulting and/or interim talent acquisition, with a substantial portion of that experience related to healthcare and life sciences or a strong desire to develop one's knowledge.

  • Business development experience and ability to persistently contact clients--demonstrated achievement.

  • Experience in business/client development and/or placing interim talent into organizations; demonstrated ability to work with clients.

  • Demonstrated ability to foster relationships across organizational boundaries and inspire trust; skilled in facilitating collaboration among teams.

Leadership Skills and Competencies:

Work Environment and Physical Effort Required:

  • Work will be conducted in a remote and/or an office environment.

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary and sedentary position over 60% of the time.

  • Occasional movement inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine and a computer printer.

  • Frequently communicates (talking and listening) with internal departments and external clients.

  • May be required to lift or carry no more than 10 pounds occasionally.
