Who we are looking for
You are experienced in composite manufacturing and assembly, specifically Thermosets and their processes (i.e. Prepreg & Wet Lamination, Vacuum Bagging, In & Out of Autoclave Processing, etc.) with advanced knowledge & understanding of the applicable tools, techniques and skills required to support and perform the defined tasks (i.e. CNC controller navigation, composites setups & processing, etc.). You possess a working knowledge of Thermoset & Thermoplastic materials and their properties, with the ability to read and interpret drawings, BoM's and work instructions/aids.

- Ownership and accountability for Safety in the workplace.
- Performs daily preventative maintenance on equipment and cleans work area after each shift.
- Maintains inventory of components, hardware and other necessary department items.
- Follows process routing document. Performs inspection(s) and legibly records results where required.
- Completes reports and other associated paperwork.
- Communicates with management, team leads, operators, quality, and other internal personnel for assignments and to resolve process or quality issues.
- Follows all applicable Quality Management System procedures, work instructions, and forms.
- Safeguards company, customer, and supplier property (electronic, intellectual, and physical).
What you bring to the Team
Lead-Specific Responsibilities:
- In-process guidance and support for technicians within their department/area
- Coordination and alignment with supervisor(s), team leads (other departments/shifts), management and various other internal personnel.
- Support as subject matter expert for lean/continuous improvement events
- Reporting on daily/shift-specific metrics and KPI's
- See opportunities for improvement.
- Work with employees, supervisors, and management to define and implement employee improvement and development plans.
- 5+ years of relevant experience (Composite manufacturing, assembly & fabrication)
- Apprenticeship, Associates degree or combination of training and hands-on experience required
Expert understanding of manufacturing and/or assembly of thermoset composites including, but not limited to:
- Hand lay-up of composite materials (Wet & Prepreg)
- Vacuum bagging process and procedures
- Application and understanding of resin systems (Epoxy, Polyester, Vinyl ester, Silicones, etc.)
- Perform hand-finishing operations on patterns and molds
- Use a variety of hand tools in cutting, grinding, fitting, and assembling
- Adhesive bonding applications
- Assembly of structures including setup, bonding, and fastener applications
Additional beneficial skills:
- Knowledge in Resin Transfer Molding and Autoclave operation
- Precision CNC machining and/or programming of composites, plastics and/or metallics.
- Understanding of composite material science and material handling requirements
- Experience in process/production startup or automation
- Relevant experience in Thermoplastic processing
- Mechanical/Mathematical/Technical understanding of advanced math, including algebra and geometry, decimals, fractions, measurements (and measuring tools), tolerances, etc.
