As the Senior Manager for a large, compliant operations team, you will lead a multi-faceted function within Lloyds Banking Group of circa 600 colleagues across onshore and offshore supplier teams; delivering a shared services model for the group that supports multiple business units in providing outstanding services to our customers. This specialist role requires exceptional leadership and deep expertise in managing complex, compliant operational processes. The role demands a strong focus on scale-leadership, operational excellence, risk management, and continuous improvement while maintaining exceptional service delivery and collaboration across all supported functions.
About the teams you’ll be leading
1) Court Production Order Unit
The operations compliance arm of the team is responsible for ensuring that the Bank remains compliant with Group Policy and legal requirements relevant to civil and criminal enforcements. The Court Production Order (CPO) Unit responds to legal court orders and requests served upon the Group by competent authorities and law enforcement agencies, compelling LBG to block accounts, disclose customer data, and confiscate funds. Knowledge of how an operations team integrates regulatory compliance into their processes will be beneficial.
2) Banking Operations Unit
The operations customer facing arm of the team is dedicated to the seamless integration of front-line customer service with back-office processing. Banking Operations fulfils many ad-hoc operational tasks across a number of Everyday Banking products (EDB): Personal Current Accounts, Credit Cards, Savings, and our telephony estate of Consumer Relationships. Many of these tasks are exceptions falling out of an automated straight-through-process owned by our EDB division. Knowledge of Retail bank product offerings will be beneficial.
Day to day you’ll:
-
Plan, coordinate, direct, and control resources across the function to achieve planned performance and agreed service and compliance standards within risk appetite and against budgeted costs.
-
Support change activities, the safe delivery of transformation into the business unit, and manage risk across processes to ensure sustainable compliance.
-
Stay updated on shifts within the regulatory landscape and internal Lloyds Banking Group changes; with the support of your team - assessing their potential impact on the bank's operations and making necessary adjustments to compliant practices and local procedures.
-
Visibly champion our push forward our people-culture transformation plans.
-
Champion continuous improvement, and control by design introducing further simplicity to processes, reducing friction, mitigating risk and potential distress to customers.
-
Manage relationships with strategic internal customers and act as their business partner, while typically using large support teams to ensure their satisfaction.
-
Engage with external networks, and at times represent LBG externally where input is required against external criminal and civil matters where LBG are under legal compulsion to disclose data or material.
-
Takes responsibility to formally grow capabilities within a significant functional area of the business, while personally investing in the growth of own and others' capabilities elsewhere in the organisation through mentoring and other informal methods.
About you
-
Extensive experience leading large operations teams both onshore and offshore.
-
Strong background in continuous improvement and operations excellence, with skills in Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.
-
Demonstrated success in implementing regulatory compliance within operations environments.
-
Proven track record in streamlining processes and enhancing operational capabilities, including experience with offshoring operations to external suppliers.
-
Working knowledge of retail banking product offerings, including savings, loans, and current accounts, is desirable but not essential.
-
Familiarity with legal disclosures and procedures under civil or criminal compulsion (e.g. court production orders) is advantageous but not required.
We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:
-
A generous pension contribution of up to 15%
-
An annual bonus award, subject to Group performance
-
Share schemes including free shares
-
Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping
