Job Description
The Compliance Program Strategist is responsible for implementing enterprise compliance initiatives and best practices throughout the organization. This position acts as a trusted advisor to the Sr. Director of Legal and Compliance, providing leadership, consulting, and strategic support for the Compliance Program across the organization. The Compliance Program Strategist champions a compliance-aware culture and advocates for the adoption of processes, strategies, and tools to enable and support individual employees and business process leaders in understanding their compliance responsibilities.
This position will be based at our National Executive Office in Memphis, TN and eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement tactics and execute programs to embed Compliance awareness into the culture.
- Manage internal relationships at various levels to support compliance initiatives.
- Understand critical business functions to identify gaps and inefficiencies in the compliance program and business processes.
- Act as a strategic consultant and change agent, evaluating, planning, and implementing Compliance initiatives to reduce organizational risk.
- Develop and deploy the organizational training program to address key areas of risk.
- Conduct compliance assessments and/or monitoring.
- Serve as a business partner to develop compliance processes and a compliance-aware culture.
- Develop and deploy strategic compliance communications to support compliance initiatives and mitigate risks.
- Identify and diagnose problems, finding innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead cross-functional projects, establish and measure performance standards and goals, and prepare executive-level reporting and recommendations.
Qualifications:
Project Management/Organization: Ability to track program initiatives, move them forward to completion, complete tasks individually as needed, collaborate with others, and manage towards completion as required.
Strategic Thinker: Deep knowledge of the organization's development and non-development operations, preferably with knowledge of effective compliance program requirements to identify areas of opportunity for improvement and program maturation.
Persuasive Relationship Builder: Strong communicator who strategically collaborates and communicates with leaders and individual contributors throughout the organization to champion and support ongoing compliance program initiatives.
Technical Systems Understanding: Preferably knowledgeable in technical systems and platforms, able to liaise with the Collaboration team or third-party vendors to ensure Compliance technology tools meet organizational needs and provide ongoing support for day-to-day needs and improvements.
Dynamic Skillset: Demonstrated ability to apply a dynamic skillset to learn and master new subject areas, deliver project deliverables or improvements in an organized and timely manner, and proactively communicate on status and challenges.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree required, MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in business operations, program management, compliance, strategy, process improvement, information systems, or communications.
- 5 years of project management or large-scale project management experience.
- Demonstrated ability for critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as tactical execution to meet strict deadlines in compressed time periods.
- Knowledge of data analytics, reporting, data processing, and systems applications.
- Highly developed relationship management, influencing, conflict resolution, and leadership skills.
- Experience in leading new organizational projects both strategically and technically, developing people and teams, and motivating others to take action.
- Strong collaborative problem solver and analytical thinker.
- Experience with PowerPoint and e-learning design and development applications and methodologies to support the development of compliance.
- Ability to compile information in a way that is easy for the organization to understand and use.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for internal and external communications.
