POSITION TITLE: Compliance Associate
LOCATION: Hybrid, Bronx, NY
REPORTS TO: Senior Director, Compliance
Job Overview:
The Per Scholas Compliance Team seeks a detailed oriented team member to work collaboratively with the Senior Director, Compliance to ensure our 22+ campuses obtain and maintain license, or exemption from licensure, as required by the state. Additionally, the team member will be responsible for obtaining and renewing our Eligible Training Provider (ETPL) status in each region as needed.

We need an Associate who enjoys digging deep into the details by researching requirements of a variety of forms, processes and documents to ensure they are completed ahead of the corresponding deadlines for each of our 20+ unique campuses to keep us compliant across multiple states.

Responsibilities for this role:
- Provide research and analysis for a variety of compliance and legal matters and help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Conduct thorough research in new and existing markets on the licensure, renewal and WIOA Eligible Training Provider List application process.
- Research state rules and statutes specific to licensure and compliance in new and existing markets.
- Enter data and track progress in compliance matter management tool.
- Gather and document each step of the licensure/renewal/ETPL process using Smartsheet's by market/region.
- Collaborate with staff/vendors who will need to provide documents or complete forms required as part of the licensure or ETPL application, gather and compile all documents and forms in the format required for submission.
- Prepare all areas of the ETPL applications.
- Follow-up on application status and make application revisions as needed.
- Attend project meetings and take minutes, as needed.
- Commitment to quality/data integrity.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-up.
- Experience showcasing persistence with Government entities via phone and email.
- Proficient in Smartsheet's (or equivalent project management tool).
- Proficient in Salesforce (data entry, data inquiries, basic reporting).
- Advanced Internet research skills.
- Ability to work independently on repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Demonstrated ability to write effectively, format and edit documents.
- Work with confidential and sensitive information while exercising excellent judgment and discretion.
- Other responsibilities, as assigned.
- Less than 10% travel.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience supporting legal and/or compliance functions, preferably in a paralegal or similar role.
- Demonstrated ability to collect and analyze data. Commitment to quality/data integrity.
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience showcasing persistence with Government entities via phone and email.
- Proficient in Smartsheet's (or equivalent project management tool).
- Proficient in Salesforce (data entry, data inquiries, basic reporting).
- Excellent working knowledge of Google, Adobe and the MS Office Suite (specifically Word and Excel) critical to role.
- Advanced Internet research skills.
- Capacity for self-directed learning and ability to work independently on repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
- Must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Paralegal certificate a plus.

For this role specifically, we are targeting a salary of between 55,000-$60,000 where the difference in salary is typically determined by several factors, including geography in which the selected candidate resides, and alignment with qualifications and experience.
