Job Description
Job Summary:
A strategic and hands-on leader with a focus on people management. Responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive compensation programs, including both broad-based and variable pay. Directs and manages compensation governance and compliance. Leads a team in analyzing and designing compensation programs, ensuring market competitiveness and alignment with the employee value proposition and financial objectives of the enterprise.
Job Duties:

Formulate, execute, and manage market competitive compensation programs that align with the strategic objectives of Exeter and the HR Employee Value Proposition.

Assess and monitor effectiveness of compensation policies, guidelines, and procedures, using data insights and market data to recommend plan revisions, develop new programs, and recommend strategies for improvement.

Provide expert advice and guidance to HR partners and leadership, while managing daily operations to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Lead the development and annual maintenance of Exeter's job architecture (Career Roadmap), salary range structures, salary survey library, and survey participation. Lead the team in reviewing and updating job descriptions and ensure a balanced approach to market pricing and internal equity in job analysis, evaluation, and salary grade assignment.

Manage the annual compensation review process, which includes merit increases, promotions, and annual bonuses. Influence intuitive configuration in Workday, conduct extensive testing, develop and execute communication materials, and collaborate with senior leadership to provide comprehensive analysis and reporting.

Direct all aspects of variable pay programs, including monthly bonuses and incentives, as well as the corporate annual bonus. Develop and implement efficient systems for calculating, analyzing, approving, distributing, and monitoring monthly variable pay programs, ensuring these processes are scalable, transparent, and seamlessly integrated with Workday and other Business Intelligence systems.

Implement improved governance processes to ensure alignment of sales and variable pay plans with corporate goals and team expectations. Lead the annual plan design and risk analysis process in collaboration with the HR team and senior business leadership, influencing design changes to adhere to industry standards and best practices.

Create and maintain detailed financial models and comprehensive compensation analytics for initiatives and planning. Analyze and project costing of compensation scenarios, reconcile to Accounting/Finance data, create dashboards and actionable reports for senior leadership, and support strategic decision-making processes and necessary program adjustments.

Develop and execute comprehensive communication and education plans that enhance awareness and understanding of compensation programs.

Manage, lead and mentor compensation and total rewards professionals, balancing strategy, team leadership, and hands-on execution and administration of projects and job duties.

Stay informed about changes to laws and regulations related to compensation, analyze the evolving legislative landscape, and collaborate with Total Rewards leadership to implement necessary program and procedural changes, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, policies, and standards.

Education and Work Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in compensation, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.

Demonstrated ability to provide mentorship and development opportunities within the total rewards team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Demonstrated analytical rigor. Must possess the capability to conduct comprehensive market research and benchmarking exercises, exhibit meticulous attention to numerical detail and precise calculations, and deliver insights that are firmly rooted in data analysis.

Proficient in advanced Excel functions, capable of conducting expedited, accurate analyses, and creating complex models and data visualizations in Excel. Expertise with Power BI a plus.

Collaborative approach. Ability to collaborate across teams and departments, partner closely with HR peers and departmental leaders, effectively articulating compensation plans to all stakeholders.

Excellent planning, organizational, facilitation, and change management skills.

Proficiency in HRIS and compensation software; Workday strongly preferred.

Exceptional communication, interpersonal skills, and decision-making skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

Advanced business acumen with an ability to understand business lines, and translate into strategic compensation and total rewards initiatives.

Certifications: Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Global Remuneration Processional (GRP), or Certified Equity Professional (CEP) is a plus.
