Crucial to the delivery of Nous projects is ensuring we work in a culturally appropriate and safe way. As a Community Engagement Advisor, you will bring invaluable skills and capabilities applicable across multiple projects, sectors and practices as a contributor, expert advisor, or stream lead on projects which contribute meaningfully to First Nations peoples, communities, and organisations. Your expertise will shape our work and its influence on our clients.
Your role will include:
- Active participation in all project phases, focusing on the engagement of First Nations people.
- Providing thoughtful analysis and input into client reports and recommendations.
- Crafting stakeholder engagement strategies to promote cultural safety and trauma responsiveness.
- Developing and leveraging community networks to support project engagement.
- Facilitating various consultation activities, including yarning circles and workshops.
- Enhancing the cultural relevance of proposals and project deliverables.
- Fostering cultural competence within the Nous team, contributing to our collective knowledge.
You are:
- A First Nations person: you are proud of your Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander history, experiences and cultural knowledge

And the practical experience…
- You have prior experience in a diverse professional setting, including with government agencies, not-for-profits and/or Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations
- You have a deep understanding and cultural connection to First Nations communities in Western Australia.
- You have experience with and enjoyment of facilitation and consultation activities, such as interviews, workshops, yarning circles, or public speaking.
- You have professional or personal experiences that give you insights into health, human services, justice, regional development, land rights, education and more.
