The Office of Residence Life is seeking a self-motivated and driven student affairs practitioner with a passion for student development and residential experience. The applicant for this position is live-on, residing in a residence hall apartment within the assigned building. Successful candidates will be able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with the ability to prioritize student safety and development of life skills. This position includes occasional evening and weekend commitments and rotating on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications
Required
- Bachelors degree

Preferred
- Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, or relevant field
Essential Functions:
Supervision
- Selects, trains, and supervises Resident Assistants in assigned community
- Assists with the on-boarding and training of student staff
- Develops healthy one-on-one and teamwork dynamics to ensure proper oversight of residential community and residents
- Facilitates on-going team building and staff development opportunities through staff meetings
- Implements residential curriculum initiatives through management of student staff tasks
Community Development
- In conjunction with student staff, develops activities designed to develop connections between residents
- Coordinates the department’s response to roommate conflicts and other resident concern
- Ensures University social and housing regulations are understood and followed by students
- Determines and administers discipline and sanctions for minor judicial infractions through the University conduct process
- Advises Community Residential Student Council in conjunction with Senior RA
- Serves as an extension of the CARE team by providing support and serve as a resource for students of concern
Administrative and Facility Management
- Conducts walk-throughs of community to ensure any maintenance, housekeeping, safety problems are identified, reported, and resolved
- Conducts Health and Safety Inspections the Saturday before all long University breaks
- Manages openings and closings of assigned building around opening and closing of each term
- Coordinates the program budgets for the staff accounts
- Manages the occupancy and assignment procedures and records
- Ensures the proper management of keys
- Maintains accuracy of various software systems such as Maxient, StarRez, eRezLife, etc.
- Serves on two departmental committees
Crisis Response
- Participates in year-round duty rotation to provide support to the residential population and determines appropriate actions/resources needed as outlined in the duty manual
- Collaborates with on-call staff, Campus Enhancement, and Campus Security and Police for response to emergent situations
- Maintains awareness of campus and community resources
Additional Responsibilities
- Responsible for other responsibilities as directed by their supervisor and/or other Residence Life Leadership Team
- Attends all meetings and events as designated by the Assistant Vice President of Student Life, Senior Director of Housing and Residence Life, and/or Director of Residence Life
